So the thing about this website is that, as much as I want it to be super useful and universal, it's also got a lot to do with my specific experiences. That's on purpose; I think authenticity is the key here. So here's a review of a place you'll only visit if you live in, or visit, South Wimbledon.

Coffee

There are a lot of coffee shops in London. Probably because lots of people like coffee.

The Chunky Pigeon is one of the independent ones.

I went this morning (Saturday) and it's probably the 6th ot 7th time we've stopped there.

Independent coffee shops in London do have a bit of a habit of being somewhat pricey and serving coffee in smaller portions.

I don't really begrudge it. I don't necessarily need my coffee to be massive and I have a feeling running any small business in London is crazy expensive.

The really important thing to me is whether the coffee is any good... and it's not like Costa, Starbucks and the rest are cheap.

The think with Chunky Pigeon is that the coffee is good. And so are the pastries, which are absolutely massive.

So if you're in the area and fancy a Latte, you could do a lot worse.

Not coffee

Other than the coffee, I should also add... they still their own merch (they call it uniform) and I'm tempted to buy the socks. They usually have music playing on the turntable, which is great. And there isn't tonnes of seating, so be prepared to take away.
